2001-2003 GM SUV "Service Ride Command" Message

It seems that 2001-2003 Chevrolet® Suburban® and Tahoe®, 2001-2003 GMC® Yukon® and Yukon® Twoscore, 2002-2003 Cadillac® Escalade® and 2003 Escalade ESV® models equipped with a Rear Ac Organisation and a Real Time Damping Chassis Package are all decumbent to this problem. Thankfully, the repair is the same for all models.

Your customers may comment that the "Service Ride Control" bulletin is beingness displayed. Upon investigation, the technician may find a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) C0580 set. The cause is poor clearance between the auxiliary Air conditioning (A/C) evaporator hose and the correct front shock absorber damper solenoid connector. Contact may occur betwixt the two, dissentious the connector and causing a poor connection at the damper solenoid. Follow the Service Process to fix the problem and prevent it from happening once more.

Service Procedure

(Review safe procedures contained in the ALLDATA® organization before beginning)

Installing a new A/C suction hose and auxiliary A/C evaporator hose and then replacing the right forepart shock cushion solenoid connector will correct the problem.

  1. Recover the A/C refrigerant.

  2. Enhance the vehicle.

  3. Remove the right front bike assembly and the correct forepart wheelhouse panel.

  4. Remove the nut and the auxiliary evaporator hose from the accumulator line block.

  5. Remove the nut and the suction hose from the accumulator.

  6. Remove the bolt and the suction hose from the compressor.

  7. Install the new suction hose (GM P/N 15195652) and commodities to the compressor. Tighten the bolt to 12 lb ft (16 N.thou).

  8. Install the new suction hose and nut to the accumulator. Tighten the nut to 12 lb ft (xvi N.yard).

  9. Release the four line retaining clamps, starting at the wheelhouse and along the underbody towards the rear of vehicle.

  1. From nether the vehicle, mark the location on the auxiliary evaporator line where the line will be cutting. Using the frontwards running lath bracket equally a reference, mark the location inline with the bracket-to-body commodities (i). If the vehicle is non equipped with running boards, mark the location inline with the commodities hole.

  2. Using a tubing cutter, cutting the marked section of the auxiliary evaporator line.

  3. Remove the front section of the auxiliary evaporator hose from the vehicle and discard.

  1. Install the new front section of the auxiliary evaporator hose (GM P/N 15196450) into the vehicle.

  2. On both sections of the auxiliary evaporator line, cut dorsum the plastic coating approximately 3 in. (76 mm).

  3. Splice in the new front section of the auxiliary evaporator hose using (GM P/Northward J 41425 - A/C Line Repair Kit and J 41425-750 - Splice).

  4. Install the auxiliary evaporator hose to the accumulator line cake and nut. Tighten the nut to 12 lb ft (xvi N.m).

  5. Secure the line retaining clamps.

  6. Install the wheelhouse panel and install the bicycle assembly. Lower the vehicle.

  7. Inject the oil into the A/C system that was removed during the recovery procedure using an A/C Oil Injection Kit.

  8. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant and so leak examination the fitting and splice using a Halogen Leak Detector.

  9. Replace the right front shock absorber solenoid connector using a new service connector (GM P/N 88986417).
